At Laurier we pride ourselves in inspiring lives of leadership and purpose and we look to Canadian executives who lead their businesses with the qualities and characteristics of excellence that we seek to develop in our students.

The Laurier CEO-in-Residence is an appointed honour by the Dean of the School of Business & Economics, and has been developed to deliver a perspective to students beyond their studies and research in the classroom.

On Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 we welcome JP Gladu, President and CEO of Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB). Join us at 10:30 a.m. in the Lazaridis Hall Atrium as JP delivers a keynote on Economic Reconciliation: an exciting economic renaissance is underway in Indigenous communities across Canada. With Recommendation 92 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission report calling on corporate Canada to engage in meaningful consultation with Indigenous peoples, every business will be responsible for moving Canada forward in this important moment in our history. But what does that mean for Canada? For business? For Indigenous communities?

Schedule:
10:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. – Opening Prayer and Smudging Ceremony
11 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. – Keynote
11:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. – Q&A and Thanks

Lazaridis School of Business & Economics

The Lazaridis School of Business & Economics is one of the most prestigious and selective schools in Canada. We teach our students to think for themselves, ensuring they can adapt to a world of ever-growing complexity. Our alumni are making a difference in the world – and you can, too.

We have more than 6,000 students enrolled in our full- and part-time undergraduate, graduate and diploma programs, making us one of the largest business schools in Canada.

Our AACSB-accredited programs are among the most selective undergraduate business programs in the country and our students are among the most engaged. When our students aren't winning national case competitions, they are leading student clubs and organizations, volunteering in the community, or starting their own businesses.
