ISAW
Whether you are new to Waterloo, have been here for a while, or are simply part of the greater Iranian community of the region, ISAW is here for you. The Iranian Students' Association of Waterloo (ISAW) is a volunteer-based, non-political, non-religious association aimed at tightening the mesh of the Iranian Community by bringing together Iranians and non-Iranians alike in a celebration of our culture and heritage.
Through its various activities and functions, ISAW aims to engage fellow students in their communities while creating a more memorable university experience here at Waterloo. Not only is ISAW the organizational body behind many community events, it also helps other groups facilitate events, serves as a medium for communication, and is an outlet to assist new students arriving in the region.
Join us for our various social and cultural events held throughout the term and annually, including: our Nowruz, unrivalled in southern Ontario; traditional music and poetry nights, Shabe Yalda, and our freshly revived sports activities.
Remember, a strong community requires a stronger core, but the core cannot persist or function without the support of the members within that community, including first and foremost, our students, intellectuals and trained professionals. What you contribute to the community will surely come back to you in more ways than one!
