The St. Jerome’s University (SJU) Orientation and Investiture Ceremony honours the tradition of welcoming and formally acknowledging the beginning of our first-year students’ journey at the university. The ceremony includes a liturgy and the commissioning of first-year students, student leaders, and new members of the university’s Board of Governors.
 
We welcome all incoming co-registered students and residents of St. Jerome’s to participate in this community event, taking place at the end of Orientation week. Each incoming student will receive a SJU pin to mark this milestone. The pin serves as a reminder that incoming students are part of a community that will support, challenge, nurture, educate, and walk with them to ensure their success.
 
The 2022 Orientation and Investiture ceremony takes place on Sunday, September 11th at 2:30 p.m. in the Academic Centre (SJ2) on SJU campus. Join us!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
 
First-year/incoming students
Seating in the Atrium of our Academic Centre is prioritized for participants in the ceremony, including incoming students, student leaders, faculty, staff, and members of our Board of Governors.
 
Students must register online using the FIRST YEAR/INCOMING STUDENT registration link provided on this page by Sunday, September 4, 2022 to reserve their seat for this event. Students will be sized for an academic gown at the time of registration. Additional event information will be sent directly by email.
 
Your permission to be part of the live stream and photography taking place during the ceremony is assumed with your registration.
 
Wondering about inviting guests?
We welcome our incoming students to invite guests to participate in the Orientation and Investiture Ceremony, by attending the live stream viewing in our Academic Centre, Vanstone Lecture Hall* OR by watching from home. Guests attending the live stream on campus are welcome to join us for the reception that follows the ceremony.
 
Students must register their guests by Sunday, September 4, 2022 for the limited general admission seating available in the Vanstone Lecture Hall. Please use the  STUDENT GUEST(s) registration link provided on this page.
 
Students will be asked to provide their guest contact name and email address for follow-up communications that will be sent directly to guests following their registration.
 
*A TWO GUEST limit per student has been placed on registrations for live stream seating in the Vanstone Lecture Hall. SOLD OUT will appear on the ticket order form when seats are no longer available.
