The observatory has been in operation since 1967. The telescope has been used for research on visual binary stars and for undergraduate student assignments.\n \nSession Description:\nThe tour begins with an indoor 30 minute PowerPoint presentation about the night sky, followed by a visit to the (outdoor) observatory dome. The dome visit (approximately 30 minutes) may include: historical background, an explanation of how the observatory and telescope work, Q&A, and telescope viewing. Telescope viewing, however, is limited to days (solar observing) or evenings with clear skies.
