The show follows Cootie, a 13-foot-tall young Black man living in Oakland, California, who has been raised in protective seclusion by his aunt and uncle. Cootie has known the outside world only through comic books, television, and his guardians’ teaching--until he breaks out of hiding to encounter the strange and beautiful contradictions of contemporary life.
