In this talk, Cailyn will break down how she leverages AI in her day-to-day work: what she no longer does (spoiler: write code), and what she does a lot more of (architecture, review, and design). She’ll share real-world use cases that show how AI is transforming security reviews at Okta, highlight where AI genuinely thrives, and dive into the changing cybersecurity landscape - explaining why security might just be one of the few fields where human intuition and critical thinking matter more than ever.\n \n\nBio: Cailyn Edwards (she\/her) is a co-chair of Kubernetes SIG Security and a Staff AI Security Architect at Okta, where she spends her time paving roads, putting up guard rails and building AI tooling for security teams. She is also an active contributor to open source projects and a regular conference speaker. Her current focus is on securing AI, and using AI to improve security processes.
